Across the Great Divide
Hi Everyone
Here’s another great track, perhaps the last from Jones and Company 2nd Generation studio session that Dad may be able to revive.
Apologies for Laura’s vocal being a bit distant here and there but it’s an old favourite of ours which we loved playing and has brought back some good memories we thought were lost. Here’s Ian to introduce the song…
Hi Folks
Here is a bit of nostalgia for you. Another studio session recording from Jones and Company (2nd Generation), with Laura on lead vocals. The song is a bitter-sweet reminder of a great songwriter who is no longer with us. Kate Wolf, who wrote, “Across the Great Divide”, died in 1986, of leukaemia, at the age of 44. The song went on to be covered by stars like Nanci Griffiths, Emmylou Harris, and Kyle Carey, and her music is still celebrated every year at, “The Kate Wolf Memorial Music Festival”, in Laytonville, California. I thank Brian and the band for reminding me of this fine country music song and I hope you like it as much as I do.

Thanks to Tom Baker for his brilliant signature guitar riffs on this one, hope you enjoy listening.
