The Oswestry Folk Club is set to host a heartfelt musical tribute to the late Ian Chesterman, a cherished figure in the folk music community. On 2 October, renowned musician and close friend Brian Jones will lead an evening filled with music and memories, celebrating the life and enduring contributions of this extraordinary artist. This special event also serves as a fundraiser for Nightingale House Hospice, where Ian spent time, inviting attendees to support this meaningful cause. 

Ian Chesterman’s career began in the 1960s with “The Cousins” and evolved through various collaborations. His songwriting and vibrant performances left an indelible mark on the folk scene, inspiring many with his anthemic melodies and storytelling. Ian’s partnership with Brian Jones, which began in the 1970s, resulted in numerous performances and projects, including the acclaimed album “Over the Moors,” recorded at Jones’ Openhouse Studio.
